Hello! My name is Lisa Hothan and I am a Third Grade teacher. This is my 16th year at SRTMS and I'm excited to start our learning adventure together. I live in Camarillo with my husband Dan, our son Hunter (who will be a second grader here at SRTMS), my baby boy Hart, and our small and cuddly farm of animals (three dogs, two rabbits, five fish, and a parakeet). I absolutely love teaching! I work part-time, which means Mrs. Watterson and I have the great pleasure of sharing our classroom. I work every Thursday, Friday, and every other Wednesday. When I'm not at school, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family, exercising, reading, and cooking. I can't wait to spend the school year with you!
My Favorites:
Food: Tacos Book: any cookbook Color: Blue Season: I love them all, but I'm especially fond of Fall
Sports: The Dodgers! Animal: Dolphin and Giraffe
Hi! My name is Carrie Watterson and I am a Third Grade teacher. This is my 11th year teaching in Pleasant Valley. Since earning my teaching credential I have taught Pre-K, 1st grade (SRTMS), 2nd grade and 3rd grade. I'm excited to return to SRTMS and to get to know your children. I live in Camarillo with my husband Scott, our three boys Wesley, Adam, and Blake, and our fur baby Milo (dog). I have the privilege of job sharing with Mrs. Hothan and working with your children every Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday. Bon jour! I am Jan Thornton and am blessed to be a third grade teacher at SRTMS! My education is via every possible type of college one can experience. Originally, it began in community college, then transferred to UCLA. As I met and married my husband Tim, my first priority became our family, so school took a backseat. After a few years, I moved my learning to CSU Dominguez Hills as it was closer to home, and graduated with a major in English Literature and a minor in Business Administration. Tim brought our family to Camarillo in 1990 due to a business opportunity. It was here that my two children (Christina, 31 and Stephen, 29) had their first elementary experiences. I loved the school environment! Tierra Linda became a second home as I volunteered and substituted as often as possible. The light finally flashed on, and I enrolled in CLU's teacher credentialing program. There I not only studied, but worked for one of my professors on the PIE Project, a full inclusion program. Today, Tim still has his own business as an independent contractor with Snap-On Tools, and the adventures of Sadie and Sweetie (dogs) will give your budding learners a giggle on a regular basis. Thank you for sharing your children with me - I look forward to a wonderful year with them!
My Favorites:
Food: Fish tacos Book: Any book by C.S. Lewis Color: Teal and green Season: Fall (love the changing of the leaves)
Sports: Baseball (Go UCLA!) Animal: Dogs, especially Beagles :)
Hi there! I am Lora Marsh and I am so very happy to be a part of the SRTMS Family. This will be my 20th year at Santa Rosa Technology Magnet School! Having started at Santa Rosa as a 4th grade teacher, I am enjoying working with 3rd graders and getting them ready for the challenges of 4th grade. I earned my BA Degree in liberal studies, hold a Clear California Teaching Credential, a Clad Credential from Cal-State Northridge, and a GATE certification. I have also served as a PVSD Teacher Leader in the Arts, and have an extensive background in theater and music - yes, your children will be singing, dancing, and acting this year! My husband, Tom, and I live in Thousand Oaks with our six furry children - aka the kitty crew - all rescues. Your children will be hearing many kitty stories this year. I spend most of my free time with my new horse, Dia (Barn Therapy), going to horse shows, Pilates, yoga, Sunday bike rides, reading, and traveling with my wonderfully patient husband.
